You’d do yourself a favor and save a ton of time if you avoid this list of words and phrases I have derived. Regardless of the product/service being sold, any use of the following words severely belittles the product and its effectiveness. Bottom line: when it comes to fitness and health, there are no shortcuts or magic potion. There’s just good ole sweat equity and a much needed perseverance.

Bigger Better and Faster

“Fast”
Nothing happens fast in the human body. Your body adapts and you must continue to overload it to keep getting results, but it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s hard to say for sure but through my experiences, it takes at least a month before changes can be noted. Don’t expect to get shredded for summer with a 30 day plan unless you are already pretty lean. (In which case, you are more than likely not reading such garbage.)

“Secrets”
There are no secrets to the human body. There may be processes that we are less familiar with than others but no secrets. You can’t speed up biological processes. Many things happen over time and take time. There’s very little you can do over a weekend to effect your health and fitness levels both negatively and positively.

“Detox”
The best way to insure that you won’t absorb any nutrients in a set amount of time. Avoid detox teas and drinks. They’re not necessary and the research behind them are sketchy at best. The weight loss from them is water weight. Losing 5 lbs of fat in a few days isn’t realistic. When you’re five pounds lighter on the scale, it’s mostly due to water fluctuations that happen on a daily basis and can change hourly. If you’re needing some gut health support, I recommend probiotics, fiber, and plenty of water. Or you could stop eating so much junk.

“6 Tips for 6 Pack Abs”
Follow the 60 For 60 Challenge on YouTube and I’ll give you 60 tips on getting a six pack. However, the best tip and advice you can receive is in the kitchen. You can build your abdominals as much as you want, but if your body fat is not low enough to reveal them, you will never see them. A good strong core is important, but there’s more than one way to strengthen the core. No one exercise guarantees a solid six pack. Jaw dropping abs derive from a solid all-around training program married with an individual-based nutritional program. It’s damn hard work.

“Tricks”
The body is not susceptible to tricks. The body is so uniquely designed; there are no accidents. Each individual is a little bit different, but basic biological functions are not up for debate. They must and will happen. Your body is able to adapt to anything you could possible throw at it.

“Immediately”
There is very little improvement that can happen immediately. One exception may be the crossover to use of good form. Switching from bad form to good form could really go along way in the scope of injury prevention, since when injuries happen, medical attention is need it, and people doesn’t always get the best medical attention, in cases like this resources from https://www.cosselawfirm.com/medical-malpractice/ are really useful for this.

“Best/Worst”
Both these words are a matter of perception. Something could be a lot better in one’s eyes compared to that of another. These words leave the door wide open for the writer’s interpretation. Tread carefully. I’m not saying avoid at all cost but make sure you trust the author before you commit to entertain their information.

“Need/Must Haves”
Most people confuse need with want. Let me clarify. Needs are something that you must have to survive (i.e. water, food). Wants are something that would be nice to have but are not necessary for life. Most often these words are used with, but not limited to, supplements. From that standpoint, none are needed. Supplements are designed to supplement (hence the name) a healthy diet and exercise program. Natural supplements (the only ones I recommend) can all be derived from food but sometimes it’s difficult to get all the vitamins and nutrients we need on a daily basis. Supplements are great about filling in the nutritional gaps and providing you peace of mind but are not a complete necessity.

“New and Improved”
Just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s a great product. I’ve yet to understand why people flock to new like it’s a 37″ flat screen on black Friday. If anything, you should be more cautious towards “New and Improved.” From working in the supplement business for 2-3 years, I know that when something is “new and improved” it usually isn’t as good as the old stuff. Of course, there are many exceptions and a lot has to do with the brand. A good rule of thumb: if the company has been around a while, they should be relatively trust worthy, albeit that’s not always the case. As always, do your homework; don’t just take their word for it.

Just named a few. Many can be interchanged with others. Be careful about what you’re reading. If it sounds too good, it more than likely is. When in doubt, just come on back to my site and I’ll be happy to set the record straight. Ole LaToof won’t steer you wrong.
